She'll be comin' 'round the mountain
She’ll Be Comin’ ‘Round the Mountain – song
She’ll be comin’ ‘round the mountain when she comes [repeat]
She’ll be comin’ ‘round the mountain
She’ll be comin’ ‘roung the mountain
She’ll be comin’ ‘round the mountain when she comes.
(Toot, toot!)
She’ll be drivin’ six white horses…
(Whoa, back! Toot, toot!)
Oh, we’ll all go out to meet her when she comes…
(Howdy do! Whoa, back! Toot, toot!)
And we’ll all have chicken and dumplings when she comes…
(Yum, yum! Howdy do! Whoa, back! Toot, toot!)
She’ll be wearing red pajamas when she comes…
(Scratch scratch! Yum, yum! Howdy do! Whoa, back! Toot, toot!)
Green grass grew all around
Green Grass Grew All Around – song
There was a hole [echo]
In the middle of the ground [echo]
T’was the prettiest little hole [echo]
That you ever did see [echo]
Well, the hole was in the ground
And the green grass grew all around, all around
And the green grass grew all around.
And in this hole there was a root..
And on this root there was tree…
And on this tree there was a branch...
And on this branch there was twig...
And on this twig there was a nest...
And in this nest there was an egg...
And on this wing, there was a feather...
[can be done w/ a flannelboard, or to encourage more creativity, try letting each child choose the next thing and standing up/down when you all sing through the list!]
